These are the baseline attempts. They date back about a year.
I have not improved much since then, but some of the equipment has.
I am using Dana's old Nikon D70 s. I now have 3 lenses:
a fairly fast 50 mm (Nikkor 1.8),
a fairly fast 70 mm macro (Sigma 2.8),
and my all-purpose 18-200 mm zoom (Nikkor).
All these were taken with the zoom.
Lighting is a problem.
Sharpness is a problem.
Dirty glass on the tanks is a problem.
But these are not really bad shots.
I will post some of the more recent attempts as a comparison.

These are beautiful, Dad! I don't know what you're looking for, but I can see your love of the fish in these shots. The composition is beautiful as is the colour. Can't wait to see some more!
